Working together for a beter social, emotional and spiritual well-being of orphans and street children in Mombasa, Kenya.
The Shoulder 2 Shoulder foundation was founded December 14th 2006. The purpose of the foundation is to provide financial support to projects in Mombasa directed towards providing housing, education and medical care to vulnerable children and other young people who otherwise wouldn’t receive this.
The Dutch-Netherlands couple Matheka and Ria Munyasya take pity on these children and lead projects which are aimed at helping this group.
In August 2004 they set up the Dickson Children Center orphanage. In July 2005 the rehabilitation center for street boys , ‘Onesimus’ joined them.
Because these orphanages lacked long term financial support, the desire to establish a foundation arose : that was to become the Shoulder 2 Shoulder foundation.
